Terms governing Illustar credit packs

Credit packs allow customers to purchase a defined number of downloads in advance. Credits are not money, gift cards or monetary store credit and may be used only in accordance with the pack purchased.

1. Available packs

Core packs are available for 10, 20 or 50 downloads. Selected packs are available for 5 or 10 downloads, and larger quantities are available through a tailored quote requested via the dedicated form. The price and licence class applicable to each pack are displayed before purchase. Promotional coupons and discount codes do not apply to credit packs.

2. Credit value

For both Core and Selected packs, one credit redeems one illustration under the licence class associated with that pack. Standard and Extended credits operate in the same way but grant different rights under the License Agreement. A Standard Licence cannot be upgraded by paying a difference or converting the redemption; Extended rights require the separate purchase or redemption of an Extended Licence. Where a customer has already redeemed a Standard Licence and subsequently requires Extended rights, the Extended Licence must be acquired in full; the earlier redemption is then cancelled and the credit returned to the balance it was taken from, keeping its original expiry date. Each redemption creates a separate licence for one illustration and one end client. The same illustration may be redeemed more than once, and each redemption produces a distinct licence.

3. Account access

A customer account is required in order to redeem credits: credits cannot be used without signing in. The account displays the available balance, expiry and redemption history. The customer is responsible for keeping their credentials secure and must report any unauthorised access without delay.

4. Expiry

Unused credits expire exactly 180 days after purchase and are then reset to zero automatically. They do not renew automatically. Where payment is not immediate, for example by bank transfer, credits become available and the 180-day period begins only once the funds have cleared. The applicable expiry date and time are displayed before purchase and, where available, in the customer account. Credit expiry does not affect the perpetual licence or download access for illustrations already redeemed.

5. Use and end client

Each redeemed illustration is subject to the License Agreement. A licence covers one end client only; using the same illustration for another client requires a new redemption or purchase. No end client information is requested at checkout or shown on the licence certificate: identifying and recording the end client associated with each licence is the customer's responsibility.

6. Non-transferability

Unless Illustar agrees otherwise in writing, credits, balances and accounts may not be transferred, shared, sold or converted into money. Balances held in different accounts may not be combined.

7. Withdrawal and refunds

A consumer may request a full refund within 14 days if no credit has been used. Once the first credit is redeemed, supply begins and the right of withdrawal ends only where the conditions required by applicable law have been satisfied. No refund for a change of mind is available after the first redemption, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights. Once the first credit has been redeemed, credits still unused in that pack are not refunded and no pro-rata refund of the pack price is available.

Expired credits are not refundable. If a technical problem attributable to Illustar prevents use for a material period close to expiry, Illustar will consider an extension or an equivalent remedy.

8. Suspension and chargeback

Illustar may suspend credits and account access in the event of fraud, a chargeback, a licence breach, account sharing or a legal obligation. Where possible, Illustar will inform the customer and allow the situation to be clarified.

A chargeback is not a refund request: your card issuer reverses the payment regardless of whether Illustar agrees with the dispute. If a chargeback is filed against an order:

• Every licence associated with that order is revoked, and access to its download link is disabled.
• If the chargeback concerns a credit pack, the pack's remaining credits are frozen, and every licence obtained anywhere using credits from that pack is also revoked, with its download link disabled.
• Once a licence is revoked, you must stop using the illustration — in any current or future work — and delete any copies of the file still in your possession or control.
• Illustar may suspend your account. Where possible, Illustar will contact you first.

Revoking a licence disables its download link and ends your right to use the illustration. It does not remove copies of the file you may have already downloaded before the revocation — you remain responsible for deleting those copies and ceasing all use, as set out above.

9. Changes

Changes to future packs do not retroactively reduce valid credits or licences already acquired. The version that applies is the one accepted at the time of purchase.
